Using Liquid Glass: Easier Than You Think!

With a professional high-tech product, one usually expects rather cumbersome and demanding instructions in order to achieve the desired result. But liquid glass seals are extremely user-friendly products and are therefore also very suitable for private use.

Every surface to be sealed is different

Different materials have different requirements. The development of liquid glass as an effective seal was adapted and optimized for all applicable materials.

For absorbent and soft substrates such as stone or wood, the sealant must be able to penetrate sufficiently so that it can then be crosslinked to form a permanently protective layer on the surface when it hardens. Non-absorbent / hard elements do not absorb the liquid glass seal – here it adheres reliably to the surface.

The exact application of liquid glass therefore differs slightly depending on the material, since the respective material properties have to be taken into account. You can find details on this with your respective product.

The general procedure consists of three simple steps:

Erster Schritt

Pre-cleaning

Pre-cleaning determines the subsequent result! Because only an absolutely clean surface can be coated well. For a perfect result, it is therefore essential to proceed with the greatest care. Remove residues such as dirt, dust or grease and oils without leaving any residue. We recommend repeating the pre-cleaning process to be on the safe side and ending with the use of pure ethanol, as this reliably dissolves fat compounds. In our shop you can find specially developed products for perfect pre-cleaning.

Applying the sealant

When the surface is absolutely clean, the application of the liquid glass begins. With many materials it can sprayed on – this applies, for example, to all types of stone and absorbent surfaces, as it is difficult to rub in here. Also a Immersion is possible, Brushes or paint rollers can be used.
Particularly with absorbent surfaces, it must be ensured that a sufficient amount is applied so that the SiO2 molecules can crosslink without gaps. Some smooth surfaces need to be sealed with the help of a soft cloth be rubbed in – cars and shower stalls, among other things, require this fine-tuning.
The greatest care is required to achieve the best possible result.

Curing

Once this work has been completed, the liquid glass has to harden for a few hours. 12-24 hours are required depending on the surface. Make sure that this process is not influenced by rain or premature stress on the material! Patience and care are rewarded, because after the necessary time has elapsed, the surface is resilient as usual and will withstand external influences such as dirt and weather in the future.

Fertig ist die Versiegelung!

After these 3 working steps, your surface is perfectly protected, and that for many years!
