Questions and answers about liquid glass sealing

Here you will find the most frequently asked questions from our customers (FAQ) and our answers:

Do you have specific questions about your company’s participation or regarding the program? Then contact us.

My surface has already been treated with another product. Can I still seal them with V24 products?

No!

Our seals are for untreated Surfaces designed. For this reason, we advise against treating surfaces that have already been processed with third-party products.

Our seals are for untreated Surfaces designed. For this reason, we advise against treating surfaces that have already been processed with third-party products.

If the remaining coating is still in place, the seal may be rejected and therefore have no effect or other interactions (staining).

With some surfaces and coatings it is of course possible to remove the previous seal, but we always recommend that you carry out an application test before applying a surface.

What is the best way to apply the sealant to stone / concrete floors?

We recommend using a foam painter’s roller (foam roller, lacquer roller, lacquer roller) to apply our stone and concrete seals, as this is the easiest way to ensure that the surface is evenly wetted.

The sealant should be applied crosswise until the surface is saturated.

Excess material that the surface does not absorb (puddles) should be picked up and rolled out immediately, as this could lead to slight darkening.

The advantage of this method compared to the spraying is

a) in the more controllable uniform distribution and wetting of the surface

b) in the material savings, since especially in the outdoor area some material ‘evaporates’ due to the wind and also in the area of the outer edges and joints material is lost.

Of course, the surface must be thoroughly cleaned with a residue-free cleaner before application and then completely dried.

Why are our seals only available online?

The costs for research and production are very high in the field of nanotechnology, a subsequent multi-level sales model via wholesalers and retailers would make the products significantly more expensive and make them unattractive in terms of price for many customers.

Through direct sales from the manufacturer, we can offer you a significantly lower price level.

Furthermore, many products are advice-intensive products that should only be used after carefully reading the product data sheets and application instructions in order to achieve an optimal result.

We can provide this information to the customer directly via our Online shop Offer.

Where is my product?

As soon as we have received your payment, we will ship your goods within 24 hours on weekdays for items that are available for immediate delivery.

Information on availability can be found on the article page in Shop .

You will automatically receive a shipping confirmation by email with a corresponding tracking link for your package, with which you can view the current status of your shipment at any time.

Will my floor become slippery after sealing?

NO!

change neither the feel nor the look of the surface.

They penetrate into the structure of the stone / concrete and create a hydrophobic (water-repellent) effect, the surface receives optimal protection against dirt and water penetration.

However, the surface is not completely insulated (e.g. against pressurized water), it remains breathable and can release moisture rising from below into the air.

The water-repellent effect prevents or slows down the growth of mosses, lichens and other green deposits.

How long does the seal work?

Compared to the seals on the market, our seals are characterized by a long service life, high resistance and strong abrasion resistance.

Nevertheless, it is difficult, almost impossible, to make detailed statements here, as this is always strongly related to the stress and the external circumstances.

The surface of a concrete base under a fence that is only exposed to wind and weather is of course subject to completely different stresses than a concrete floor in a workshop that is constantly driven on and walked on.

The paintwork and windows of a representative vehicle with an annual mileage of 80 km on the North Sea with salty sea air naturally suffer significantly more than a garage car that is only moved 10 km in Central Germany.

Bathroom ceramics in a private guest toilet are protected much longer than those in a public indoor swimming pool.

What can I use to treat porcelain stoneware?

Porcelain stoneware is fundamentally characterized by very low liquid absorption, which is why it must be clarified before application whether the respective surface still has absorbency or, similar to a glazed surface, does not absorb any liquid.

For absorbent surfaces, we recommend using our Stone sealing with long-term and deep effect , ours for non-absorbent surfaces Premium sealing for glass and ceramics .

Before applying the surface, we recommend creating a test surface in order to test the absorption of the sealant and its effectiveness.

Can the sealant stain stone and concrete surfaces?

at not more correct Application, there may be slight deepening of the color.

It must be ensured that the sealant is applied evenly and not too thick. Only as much as the absorbent surface absorbs immediately.

Possible mistakes:

– the material to be treated is not completely dry (e.g. due to rising damp in floor slabs)

– a surface is oversaturated and the excess material has not been spread or absorbed

– a pre-treatment of the surface has already been carried out with another product

– the surface is already pre-treated by the manufacturer with a hydrophobic coating

In order to check the compatibility with possible pre-treatments or desired post-treatments, we recommend creating a small test area.

This applies to our sealants for mineral, absorbent surfaces of the 7620 series

Can I use your seal for a pool (waterproofing)?

No! A sealing of a pool or pond is not possible. Only a water-repellent effect is achieved, not water impermeability.

For the protection of pool borders and terraces in the pool area, however, our sealants are well suited.

Our stone and concrete seals create a hydrophobic (water-repellent) surface and protect it from dirt and make regular cleaning of the treated surfaces much easier.

The “natural cleaning” of the surfaces by precipitation is significantly increased, adhesions and dirt particles loosen more easily and are washed away.

The finished seal itself is stable against water and solar radiation, as well resistant to pool water (with chlorine) .

When using it on curbs in existing pools, it is important that the surface to be coated is absolutely dry and that any chlorine residues have to be thoroughly cleaned beforehand. The water level should be well below the surface to be coated, as the capillary effect will continue to wet the stone from inside / below.

How do I protect stainless steel surfaces?

To protect your stainless steel surfaces, we recommend:

Plastic + metal sealing in professional quality

Highly effective professional protective sealing for plastic and metal (e.g. stainless steel) with lotus effect (water repellent) for inside and outside

Smooth surfaces made of plastic, painted surfaces, stainless steel and metal have a hydro- and oleophobic effect and dirt particles such as grease, oily substances, lime and substances from environmental pollution have less adhesion or can be easily removed from the coating, ie without the use of abrasive agents (“Easy-to-clean”)

Permanent Protector high-end seal

Special professional sealer suitable for metal, plastic, powder-coated and painted surfaces. Also used in the marine, military and aviation (aircraft industry) sectors.

Shelf life up to 5 years. Also provides high quality corrosion protection.

This high-tech special coating was developed especially for the requirements in the marine, military and aviation (aircraft industry) sectors. It is exceptionally resistant to corrosion, abrasion and temperature. It can be applied to metal, plastic, powder-coated and painted surfaces. Curing can be accelerated by heat or can take place at ambient temperature. ALGT © Permanent Protector forms a strong bond with the surface and forms an abrasion-resistant coating with very high adhesive properties. The thin transparent coating is extremely strong.

Caution: This is a high-tech product that only provides the desired result when used properly. Please be sure to observe the information in the PDF file “Application Surface Protection”.

We also offer a special cleaner for cleaning stainless steel surfaces:

Stainless steel cleaner BLU1000

The product contains highly active cleaning additives and additives to recondition the heaviest soiling, damaged, corroded and unsightly stainless steel surfaces. The result is a good optical to high-gloss surface.

When can I seal a fresh paint?

On this subject, we recommend asking the car manufacturer for new cars or the paint shop carrying out new or re-painting, as there can be significant differences in the curing time of paints.

This is decisively influenced by the composition of the paint, the time it remains in the drying chamber and the climatic conditions.

The reason for this is the chemical reactions that take place during the curing process, which are necessary for the paint to fully cure.

After painting, drying (evaporation of solvents) is completed after 30-45 minutes in the drying chamber and the paint has hardened to such an extent that it can no longer absorb dust particles. The subsequent hardening (formation of polymer chains) can take several weeks.

In any case, we recommend using a conservative curing time so that 100% curing is guaranteed.

Can I seal my foiled vehicle?

We currently do not have a special product for foiled vehicles on offer.

We have already carried out motorsport tests here, but the results were not as positive as on painted surfaces.

In principle, the application of very high-quality films is possible with our product

Plastic + metal sealing in professional quality

Smooth surfaces made of plastic, painted surfaces, stainless steel and metal have a hydro- and oleophobic effect and dirt particles such as grease, oily substances, lime and substances from environmental pollution have less adhesion or can be easily removed from the coating, ie without the use of abrasive agents (“Easy-to-clean”)

In this case, however, the surface reaction should first be tested with a piece of the film before surface application, as the quality of the film can vary greatly and could react to solvents.

Do the stone and concrete seals change the look?

NO!

Our seals of the 7620 series

were developed to penetrate deep into the structure of the mineral surface. After hardening, the surface is optimally protected against dirt, abrasion and the ingress of water.

A water-repellent, diffusion-open layer is created, but that neither changes the look nor the feel of the concrete . This does not completely isolate the surface (e.g. against pressurized water), it remains breathable and can release moisture rising from below into the air.

How do I go about sealing my car?
  • In the case of heavy contamination, use abrasive cleaning, for example, with our cleaner BLU1000
  • Intensive cleaning of the area to be treated with our biological pre-cleaner BIOSATIVA
  • Degreasing the surface to be treated with bio-ethanol
  • Raising our Car paint and wheel rim sealing by circular movements with a clean paper, linen or microfiber cloth
  • If light haze should form on the surface, the excess material can be polished off gently and without pressure with a soft microfiber cloth after about an hour
  • The SiO2 coating is completely crosslinked and cured after 24 hours. The easy-to-clean effect can be tested for the first time after this hardening phase
  • As an alternative to car paint and rim sealing , our Metal Dura E a sy On or Permanent Protector 9H ceramic sealant for car paint products can be used for advanced and professional users, taking into account the respective application instructions
Can I apply the sealer to my waxed car?

No ! In any case, this must be removed beforehand.

Any existing coating prevents our sealants from optimally bonding with the surface.

Can I remove minor scratches in the paint with your sealer?

No! Here recommend the use of a professional polish.

The repaired surface can then be finished with our Car seals to be protected.

What do I have to watch out for in the bathroom with regard to ceramics and glass?

Particularly in the bathroom area, very thorough pre-cleaning + degreasing before application is essential.

Degreasing with bio-ethanol also removes the residual moisture from the surface at the same time, which is important for optimal wetting of the seal on the surface.

In addition, a thorough decalcification should be carried out beforehand, especially in the case of hard water, as the limescale on the surface prevents optimal wetting.

Subsequently, glass surfaces (shower cabins, mirrors, windows…) as well as all ceramic surfaces (washbasins, shower trays, floor and wall tiles, toilets…) can be coated with our premium glass and ceramic sealant in professional quality with extra long durability.

The effect is wearing off, can I freshen up the seal?

Yes!

If the pearling effect diminishes at some point, surfaces can also be resealed. The procedure here is the same as for a new application.

It is also possible to reapply partially (e.g. walkways on terraces or driving grooves of cars in the area of yard and garage).

Can I avoid scratches with a seal?

Of course, scratches caused by external mechanical influences cannot be avoided.

However, the hardness and scratch resistance of the respective surface can be significantly increased by a professional sealing and the smoother, firmer surface reduces the cleaning effort and prevents unwanted buildup.

The number of micro-scratches is significantly reduced depending on the surface (depending on the hardness of the substrate).
